Nestled in a valley, in the shadow of the famous basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, lies the amazing expanse of Valle di Assisi, one of Umbria’s newest and most interesting estates. Owned by the impossibly energetic Bianconi family, the property is not a big vineyard, but a big place. Here, you will find an extraordinary hotel, resort, and restaurant, with groves of trees, flowered plants, and grape vines planted in between, with happy people milling about with glasses of wine in the sunshine. Specializing in classic Umbrian varietals, Valle di Assisi is an historically-rooted estate with great technology, know-how, and passion to make wines that inspire. An under-explored area of Italian winemaking, Assisi is capable of making wines of great character, depth and balance, and Valle di Assisi is one of the best.
Our Family of Winemakers |
Wine itself is wonderful, but the stories of the families and artisans who make it are equally important. Who does not want to know more about the composer, painter, singer, or writer? This is why you will find a photo of the winemaker and the story of the estate on every bottle-connecting those who make the wine with those who enjoy it. |
