Ours is a land rich in farming tradition where sharecropping families
lived and worked in the countryside around Montalcino. Mauro Brunelli
and Anna Savini, owners of the Brunelli Estate, both come from farming
families who have always lived in Montalcino. Their families abandoned
the cultivation of land at the end of the Sixties to dedicate themselves
to other activities, as many locals did. In 1964, the Brunelli family
moved to Martoccia a small farm of about three hectares. In 1998,
together with Luca, only child of Anna and Mauro, they bought more land
where they planted vines. Currently, the Brunelli Estate covers 15
hectares of land of which five are registered as Brunello di Montalcino
D.O.C.G. while olive groves and forest cover the remainder of the
property. Their love of the land and respect for tradition daily
nourish the enthusiasm of the Brunelli family who live and work in this
field.

Our Family of Winemakers |
Wine itself is wonderful, but the stories of the families and artisans who make it are equally important. Who does not want to know more about the composer, painter, singer, or writer? This is why you will find a photo of the winemaker and the story of the estate on every bottle-connecting those who make the wine with those who enjoy it. |
